India’s Minister of External Affairs Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has arrived in the Maldives for an official visit.
Upon arrival at Velana International Airport (VIA), he was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moosa Zameer.
Dr. Jaishankar's visit, which is at the invitation of Minister Zameer, will conclude on August 11. During his stay, Dr. Jaishankar is scheduled to hold official talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The visit also marks the completion of several key projects under the Exim Bank of India’s line of credit. Additionally, the two countries are expected to sign memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
Dr. Jaishankar is also scheduled to meet with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
This is his first official visit to the Maldives since assuming office for a second term.
