President condemns Gaza school attack, urges accountability for Israel

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged the international community to condemn the attack on Al-Tabi’in School in Gaza City and to hold the Israel government accountable for the incident. The attacks on August 10 resulted in the deaths of over 100 individuals who had taken refuge at the school.

In a social media post, President Dr. Muizzu expressed strong condemnation of the Israeli military's actions. He also described the heartbreaking and terrifying scenes of women, children, and the elderly who were injured in the attack.

Additionally, President Dr. Muizzu stated that more than 39,000 people have been killed since the attacks began in October, and criticised the Israeli government for failing to take any steps to halt the violence. He emphasised that these actions violate international human rights law and called for the protection of innocent Palestinian civilians. He also urged the international community to work towards holding the Israeli government accountable.

In addition to President Dr. Muizzu's statement, the Maldivian government issued a statement condemning the attack as an act of genocide by the Israeli government.
