Minister Zameer departs to Saudi Arabia on an official visit

Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer has departed on an official visit to Saudi Arabia. The trip was undertaken by the minister on the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud.

Minister Zameer will deliver a letter from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu addressed to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The minister will also engage in high-level discussions with his counterpart, Saudi Arabia's foreign minister, to review the longstanding ties between the two countries. They will further discuss avenues for future cooperation in areas of mutual interest. This year marked the 43rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Minister Zameer is also scheduled to meet with other senior dignitaries of the government of Saudi Arabia and senior officials from Saudi Fund for Development. The minister will also interact with the resident Maldivian Community in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and inquire about their well-being.

The official visit is scheduled to take place from August 18-22. Minister Zameer will be accompanied by Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority Ahmed Munawar, Ambassador-at-Large Ahmed Naseer, Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, Joint Secretary Badoora Saeed and Director General Aishath Fareena.
