Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal has highlighted the new partnership between the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and Fliggy, a leading Chinese online travel platform under Alibaba, will open exciting opportunities for Maldivian businesses.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MMPRC and Fliggy, Minister Faisal emphasised the significant benefits of collaborating with a major platform like Fliggy. He encouraged Maldivian businesses to seize this opportunity to maximise their potential.

In an interview with PSM News following the ceremony, the minister expressed confidence that the MoU will strengthen efforts by the government and industry stakeholders to boost tourist arrivals from China. He revealed that marketing activities targeting five cities in China are planned for this year.

The MoU was signed by MMPRC Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree and Fliggy Vice President Tong Teng at a ceremony held at Villa Nautica. According to MMPRC, the partnership with Fliggy will help promote the Maldives as a premier destination in the Chinese market.

MMPRC also noted that the Maldives continues to be a top destination for Chinese tourists. The corporation believes this MoU will support its mission to maintain the Maldives' status as the World’s Leading Destination while keeping the Chinese market updated on the latest developments in the Maldives.
