The Judiciary Committee’s report noted the alleged cases of corruption of the tribunal during the previous government. The report also noted that the tribunal made decisions at a higher cost. The committee also made the decision to refer the alleged corruption cases of the tribunal to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The tribunal consists of five members, including the President and Vice President. The Parliament recommended the removal of tribunal President Mohamed Munawar Ali, Vice President Hussain Zaidhan Jaleel, member Khadheeja Naeem and member Ahmed Ashraf. Ismail Sajid is the only member of the board who was not recommended to dismiss citing that helped to bring the Parliament’s attention to the issues of the tribunal.
