Maldivian Ambassador to Türkiye presents credentials

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Maldives to Türkiye Lieutenant General (Retired) Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef has presented his credentials to Türkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The ceremony took place at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, Türkiye.

Following the presentation, President Erdoğan warmly welcomed and congratulated Ambassador Abdul Latheef, who expressed his sincere gratitude in return. During their meeting, the ambassador highlighted the support provided by Türkiye to the Maldives and discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral relationship.

This appointment marks the first time a Maldivian ambassador has been assigned to Türkiye. The decision to establish a Maldivian Embassy in Türkiye was made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in February, aiming to enhance bilateral relations in politics, economic development, and culture.
