Maldives and Saudi Arabia sign to enhance seaplane operations

The Maldives and the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for enhanced seaplane operations. The MoU was signed by Maldives' Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser.

This agreement focuses on developing safety and security regulations for water aerodromes and seaplanes, ensuring they align with international standards. Additionally, the MoU outlines collaborative measures to minimize environmental impact during aviation operations. The agreement underscores the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.

The signing took place during Minister Ameen's official visit to Saudi Arabia, following an invitation from Saudi Arabia's Minister of Transport and the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej. The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation stated that Minister Ameen is scheduled to hold comprehensive discussions aimed at boosting bilateral relations in the field of civil aviation.
