Haa Alif Atoll Hospital has announced that it is seeking local nurses to replace the foreign nurses working in the health centres of the atoll. The hospital has an overarching goal of replacing all the foreign nurses with locals.
Speaking to PSM News, Haa Alif Hospital stated that it will continue to make announcements seeking for nurses, until it recruits enough locals to replace the foreign nurses. It revealed that the announcement will be made once in every three months.
On September 6, the hospital announced 51 job opportunities, seeking local nurses, for all of its islands except for one. It is seeking registered nurses with a public service rank between level five and seven. Nurses with a public service rank of level five should be accepted by and registered in the Maldives Nursing and Midwifery Council, have a certificate equivalent to Maldives National Qualification Framework (MNQF) level five or six within the nursing field, and must have an updated practising licence. The hospital revealed that nurses with a public service rank of level five will receive a basic salary of USD 741 and an allowance of USD 345.8, in addition to the attendance allowance.
Meanwhile, nurses with a public service rank of level seven must also be accepted by and registered in the Maldives Nursing and Midwifery Council, have a certificate equivalent to Maldives National Qualification Framework (MNQF) level seven or eight within the nursing field, and must have an updated practising licence. The announcement made by Haa Alif Hospital revealed that nurses with a public service rank of level five will receive a basic salary of USD 846.8 and an allowance of USD 395, along with the attendance allowance.
The hospital has stated that interested individuals can submit their applications and relevant documents to the administrative office of the hospital or via email. More information regarding the application have been publicised in the Government's Gazette. The hospital disclosed that interviews to select potential nurses will be held from September 15-31, in Haa Alif Atoll Hospital's administrative office, situated in Dhidhdhoo.
Furthermore, the hospital disclosed that nurses are being sought to work for Haa Alif Hospital and 13 health centres. As such, it is seeking 13 nurses for Haa Alif Hospital, six nurses for Baarah Health Centre, two for Muraidhoo Health Centre, six for Thakandhoo Health Centre, four for Hoarafushi Health Centre, one for Thuraakunu Health Centre, Uligan Health Centre and Maarandhoo Health Centre each. Additionally, it is also seeking two nurses for Molhadhoo Health Centre, eight for Kelaa Health Centre, three for Vashafaru Health Centre, two for Filladhoo Health Centre and two for Utheemu Health Centre.
