The Maldives Fisheries and Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation (MFORMPC) has disclosed that the corporation is working to establish and introduce a distinctive brand for local fisheries products. The company has announced a tender for the development of a Maldivian fisheries brand.
MFORMPC notes that the selected part will be conducting detailed market research and gathering important information about Maldivian fisheries to create the brand. The selected agency will work with MFORMPC to create the brand and promote fish products in Maldives and abroad.
An information session for those interested in the project is scheduled for September 12. The deadline for submission of proposals is September 22.
The Maldives Fisheries and Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation was established by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in February 2024. The corporation is fully vested with a 100 percent stake of the government and carries fixed liabilities.
The purpose of the Maldives Fisheries and Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation is to expand the country’s fishing industry as well as to enhance its social benefits by promoting and marketing Maldivian products across the international market. As such, it will be promoting products from Maldivian aquaculture, maricultural, and all marine sources.
