Spokesperson at the President’s Office Heena Waleed has stated that legal action is being taken against an online newspaper for spreading false news against the President. Heena disclosed this via a social media post.
In her statement, Heena stated that a decision has been made to take legal action against an online newspaper for reporting false news that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has distributed USD 4,886 to each parliamentarian of the main ruling party People’s National Congress (PNC). She stated that this news is untrue and false.
Noting that the false news was spread to create sedition, Heena stated the matter has now been reported to the relevant authorities. She reiterated that legal action will be taken against all those involved in the case. She also cautioned the public to be vigilant of false news being spread about the President and parliamentarians.
