Programme launched to enhance Quran recitation skills of Imams

An initiative, named "Thahseenuhthilava," has been introduced to enhance the quality of Quran recitation among permanent imams of mosques. The programme, spearheaded by the National Centre for the Holy Quran, aims to elevate the standard of Quranic recitation in the country.

The National Centre for the Quran announced that the programme will initially focus on imams in the capital city. It officially began on September 10 with 17 participating imams and is scheduled to run for three weeks. Daily sessions of the programme are held from 0900hrs to 1100hrs at the Islamic Centre.

The programme features instruction from Al-Qari Mohamed Aslam and Sheikh Nasrullah Ali. Participants will receive training on reciting the Quran according to the rules of Tajweed, as well as techniques for optimizing their voice and tone during recitation.

The National Centre plans to extend this programme to improve Quran recitation skills for imams nationwide.
