BML elects new board members and appoints a Chairman

The Bank of Maldives (BML) has elected new board members and appointed a Chairman for its Board of Directors.

During a special general meeting (EGM) held today, Ahmed Ali Habib, Ali Irfan, and Mohamed Shahid were elected as directors. Following the EGM, the board convened and appointed Ahmed Ali Habib as the Chairman.

The directors appointed to the BML Board on behalf of the Government are:

  • Ahmed Ali Habeeb
  • Ali Faris Mohamed
  • Adil Moosa
  • Dr. Mariyam Suzy Adam
  • Ali Irfan
  • Mohamed Shahid

Three directors elected on behalf of the public shareholders:

  • Abdullah Naseem
  • Moosa Rasheed
  • Najeem Ibrahim Zakariyya

The BML Board consists of 11 members: 6 appointed by the government, 2 nominated by BML, and 3 representing private shareholders.
