The Male’ City Council has launched a special survey aimed at identifying road-related problems throughout the city. This initiative is designed to help the council better understand these issues and facilitate their resolution.
The survey will cover 19 areas to assess the condition of the roads and will provide a digital overview of the various challenges affecting residents. The council plans to gather information on damaged roads, drainage systems, and illegal structures. City councillors and council staff will conduct the survey, allowing the council to pinpoint road issues and take prompt action to address them.
There have been numerous complaints regarding street conditions, including parking difficulties, congestion, and damage to gates and drainage. The council aims to make these road issues digitally visible to implement sustainable maintenance solutions.
Additionally, the city council is addressing water leakages on to the streets. In just the past week, 44 locations were inspected, with 11 issues resolved. Notices have also been issued to improve 30 additional sites.
The council is collaborating with relevant government agencies to tackle road problems effectively. The city council and the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation are actively working on significant projects, including the government's "Green City" initiative, which aims to provide lasting solutions to many of the city’s longstanding road issues.
