The Governor of Karnataka, Thawar Chand Gehlot, has met with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, as part of his visit to India. During the meeting, the Governor highlighted the importance of President Dr. Muizzu’s state visit to India and the strong, lasting ties between the two neighboring countries.
President Dr. Muizzu expressed his gratitude to the Government of India for their warm hospitality. He noted that discussions throughout his visit had been constructive, particularly praising the success of business forums held in New Delhi and Mumbai, with another forum planned for Bangalore later that day.
Karnataka's Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, who was also present, emphasized the growing bilateral relationship between the Maldives and Karnataka. He expressed a willingness to share expertise through educational and cultural exchange programs. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
Accompanying the President were First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and a high-level delegation from the Maldivian government.
