Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau and President of Dhonfanu Island Council Ahmed Irushad have inaugurated the Dhonfanu Police Post in Baa Atoll. To officially inaugurate the police post, flags of Maldives Police Service (MPS) was hoisted by Commissioner Shujau and the national flag was hoisted by President of the Council Ahmed Irushad.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Commissioner Shujau stated this day represents a historic milestone for the residents of Dhonfanu. The commissioner affirmed the inauguration of the police post will ensure the safety and security of the residents of the island, as well as visitors. Additionally, he noted that it will facilitate more effective action against drug dealers and raise public awareness regarding scams and cybercrimes. He also assured that all police officers stationed on the island will dedicate their utmost efforts to crime prevention in collaboration with the community.
The ceremony held to mark the inauguration of Dhonfanu Police Post was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikry, Service Development Directorate Assistant Commissioner of Police Moosa Ali and other executive and commissioned police officers. Furthermore, members of Baa Atoll Council and senior officials from institutions in Dhonfanu also were present at the event.
