Maldives and Gambia have held significant discussions, aiming to build closer community connections and closing critical public needs gaps. The discussions were held between First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and the First Lady of the Gambia Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 11th Edition of the Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary Annual Conference.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed the causes championed by the Merck Foundation and spoke extensively on strengthening collaborative efforts with the Foundation to address challenges faced in Asian and African communities. They also agreed that women worldwide face similar issues regardless of their nationalities.
