Minister of Finance Moosa Zameer has announced the upcoming fiscal year will see a salary increase for civil service employees. He made the announcement proposing the state budget to the parliament. The proposed budget totals USD 3.7 billion and aims to enhance the compensation structure for public sector workers.
In his remarks, Minister Zameer highlighted that the budget allocates USD 32.6 million specifically for harmonizing salaries of all civil service and judiciary employees. This move is part of the government's commitment to ensuring fair compensation across these sectors.
Additionally, the Minister indicated that salary adjustments for all other public employees are scheduled to occur in 2026, signalling a broader approach to improving wage structures within the civil service.
