The government has selected 63 individuals to receive IVF treatment in the second round, which will be covered by the national health insurance, Aasandha. Providing IUI and IVF treatments under Aasandha is a commitment made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Under this initiative, the government opened the opportunity for individuals facing financial difficulties in accessing IVF treatment to receive financial support, with a deadline set for July 31. The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) reported that a total of 215 individuals applied for assistance during this period.
NSPA has now released the list of 63 applicants who will receive treatment in this second round. The list includes the applicants’ entry numbers, as well as information on those deemed ineligible and the reasons for their ineligibility. The agency has stated that details regarding the treatment plan will be communicated to the selected applicants by November 30.
Opportunities are now open to file any complaints regarding the list. NSPA has indicated that complaints must be submitted by November 10, 1400hrs. If any changes to the list occur as a result of the review process, a revised list will be announced on November 15.
The government plans to assist 100 couples this year in securing financial support for IVF treatment. Aasandha Company Limited has allocated a budget of USD 1.9 million for this initiative. In the first round, a total of 153 individuals submitted applications, with only 37 deemed eligible to receive treatment.
