Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has launched an initiative, aimed at collecting information on economic developmental projects and collecting the data of those contracted with the projects in terms of gender ratio. The initiative, under the name "Dhivehi Raajjeyge Iqthisaadhee Furamala 2025", was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed.
Under the nationwide initiative launched by BCC, the corporation will send teams to all residential islands to collect the most updated information, in addition to reviewing the statistics collected by various administrations. It announced that practical works of the initiative will commence in Haa Alif Atoll within this month, aiming to complete the works by mid-2025.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Minister Saeed emphasised the crucial importance of BCC's initiative of economy profiling. Highlighting that this work is directly linked with the economic development, he urged the corporation to complete the works with caution and care.
During the ceremony, Deputy Managing Director of BCC Saamih Adam noted that the benefits of the works will be visible before it is fully completed. He affirmed that it will significantly help in identifying small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and will further assist in providing special services.
BCC noted this initiative will play a vital role in helping the leaders of the nation to make better decisions, while paving the path for local and foreign investments as well. The corporation has decided to include all economy-related works in this initiative.
