PSM Launches Innovative Programmes and Services

Public Service Media, PSM has launched a range of innovative new programmes aimed at enhancing its content and embracing new technology. The new programmes were launched at a special ceremony attended by Cabinet Ministers and heads of state-owned enterprises.

Speaking on the new programmes and services, PSM’s Managing Director Ibrahim Nasreen said the media is growing with new ideas and innovations to suit modern times. Noting that this is the era of visual reality and new innovations, Nasreen said PSM is facing 2025 with new dreams and the determination to create content in a new and unique way. He stated that the newly launched programmes and services will adopt innovative ideas, marking the launch as the first step towards content transformation.

PSM’s Chairperson Aminath Namza said PSM traditionally produces creative and innovative programmes to coincide with Ramadan every year. She praised PSM’s staff and noted their dedication to ensure that the programmes are enjoyable to the audience.

The ceremony also saw the launch of PSM’s international Quran competition held to foster a love for reading Quran, Al-Noorul Mubeen Quran Competition. The competition was last held in 2018, with participants from 11 countries taking part.

PSM’s Air App, which allows users to conveniently watch and listen to PSM channels on the go, was also launched at the ceremony.

Some older but popular shows such as the Boduberu Challenge, Maldivian Idol, and Voice of Maldives will make a comeback this Ramadan. Additionally PSM Lens, which focuses on community workers and volunteers and their contributions, was also launched.

The new products and services were launched by Cabinet Ministers and heads of State Owned Companies. They all agreed on PSM’s vital role in disseminating information and providing entertainment, and stated that its programmes were beneficial to the community.
