Bus service commences in Addu City & Fuvahmmulah

‘Southern Transport Link’ bus transportation service commenced in Addu City and Fuvahmmulah on Friday.

The service was inaugurated by Vice President Abdullah Jihad at a ceremony held in Fedhoo, Addu City.

Speaking after launching the service, Vice President Abdulla Jihad appealed the nation to provide support in the administration’s various development projects.

Vice President stated that the land transportation project inaugurated in Addu City and Fuvahmmulah would bring increased mobility, convenient transportation and aid in the efficient transport of cargo.

The Vice President also said that, due to the commencement of the bus service, it would allow the public for savings of up to 90 percent on transportation costs.

Minister of Economic Development Mr. Mohamed Saeed, Parliament Member of Feydhoo constituency, Ibrahim Didi and Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), Mohamed Junaid also addressed the attendees.

Senior officials of MPL also attended the function.
