Economic Ministry announced that shops and restaurants would return to normal operating hours from Wednesday.
The Ministry extended the opening hours of shops and restaurants coinciding with the fasting month of Ramadan.
The extended opening hours of shops and cafés /restaurants was only applicable during Ramadan and the first 6 days of the month of Shawwal.
From Wednesday onwards, the normal operating hours are in effect with closing hours of shops set at 10 p.m. and restaurants and cafés at 12 a.m., the Ministry said.
Economic Ministry said any shops and restaurant/ cafés that did not comply with the regulations would face a fine of MVR2,000.
