Weather worsens in northern & central atolls

Maldives Metrological Services on Thursday urged the public to be cautious as rough weather conditions are expected over the country.

The weather office issued a white alert for the northern and central parts of the country from 1415PM till 1915PM, forecasting average strong winds of 23 to 29 miles per hour and gusts of 45 miles per hour.

Following severe conditions across Male’ City region, authorities have advised against sea travel. The Marine Police say they are closely monitoring vessels travelling in the region.

Authorities urges seafarers to be cautious and check weather updates before setting out on their journeys.
