President Dr Muizzu Appoints Mujuthaz to Civil Service Commission

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Mohamed Mujuthaz to the Civil Service Commission (CSC), filling a vacancy left by Ibrahim Rasheed's resignation. The appointment was formalised in a ceremony at the President's Office, where Mujuthaz received his letter of appointment following the oath of office, administered by Supreme Court Justice Hussain Shaheedh.

His appointment adheres to Article 180(b) of the Constitution and Section 13 of the Civil Service Commission Act.

A lawyer by training, Mujuthaz holds a Bachelor of Law from the Maldives College of Higher Education. He previously served as Minister of State for Presidential Affairs and was a Member of Parliament for Hanimaadhoo. His government experience extends across various senior roles.

Rasheed resigned on 11 March amid proceedings by the Parliamentary Committee on Independent Institutions, which had sought his removal over allegations related to recruitment irregularities and other misconduct.
