BML CEO Lauds Staff as the Bank’s “Most Valuable Asset”

CEO and Managing Director of Bank of Maldives (BML) Mohamed Shareef has described BML staff as the bank’s “most valuable asset.”

Speaking during the BML Staff Awards held at Crossroads Maldives, Shareef emphasised the pivotal role of employees in the Bank’s achievements.

“Our staff are the most valuable asset of the Bank. Their passion, innovation and unwavering commitment are the foundation of our success,” he said.

According to Shareef, BML, over the past year, has introduced enhanced professional development programmes, flexible work arrangements and well-being initiatives to support its staff.

“These changes reflect our commitment to fostering a workplace where every employee can thrive and excel. Tonight, we celebrate not just individual accomplishments but the collective spirit that makes BML a leader in the Maldives,” he explained.

The coveted Employee of the Year was awarded to Huzaath Ali, Director of Financial Transactions for her exceptional performance and dedication. The CEO’s Award for Outstanding Achievement was presented to Hussain Rasheed, Head of Customer Engagement and Abdullah Sobah, Head of Premium Banking honoring their extraordinary contributions to the Bank’s success. Mohamed Saawee Fathuhulla, In-Charge of Digital - Technology Division, received the Leadership Excellence Award.

Awards for staff and teams who excelled over the past year were also presented in the ceremony in various categories including Best Divisional Employee, Emerging Talent, Customer Excellence, Outstanding Team Achievement, Project Excellence and Innovation Catalyst.

The awards were presented by BML’s Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef as well as members of the Bank’s Board of Directors.
