Civil Court closes “majority” of cases filed a year ago

A majority of unfinished cases have been concluded this year, the Civil Court says.

According to the court, all but 3 cases, filed over a year ago, have now been concluded. The court described it as a “remarkable achievement” since its establishment.

The Court said cases which had been filed over a year ago have been reduced from 191 to 3 by July 5 this year. The court records show that 2,377 cases were filed in 2015 and 96% or 2,283 cases were concluded during the year.
