Dr Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed, newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Maldives to the Philippines, presented her Letters of Credence to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during a formal ceremony held at Malacañang Palace in Manila. The occasion marked a renewed chapter in diplomatic engagement between the two nations, reflecting shared aspirations for strengthened cooperation and enduring friendship.
During her audience with President Marcos, Ambassador Ahmed conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. She reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the close bilateral cooperation and longstanding cordial relations that have characterised ties between the Maldives and the Philippines.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives confirmed that President Marcos congratulated Ambassador Ahmed on her appointment. He assured her of the full support and cooperation of the Government of the Philippines in the discharge of her diplomatic responsibilities.
