SDFC Launches New Financing Scheme to Empower Women Entrepreneurs

The SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC) has announced a new financing scheme aimed at encouraging and supporting women to enter the business sector.

The SDFC said the scheme, set to be introduced in November, is designed to empower women entrepreneurs and support women-owned enterprises by providing flexible financial assistance to women entrepreneurs. Through this scheme, SDFC will provide financing for those who are looking to establish or expand businesses across various sectors.

Commenting on the new financing scheme, SDFC’s Managing Director, Badruddeen Hassan said he hoped the initiative would encourage women to enter the business sector, start their own businesses and achieve long-term success.

"This is an opportunity to showcase the skills and abilities of local women entrepreneurs. Under this scheme, financial assistance is offered with easy and flexible repayment methods. This scheme will assist them in achieving their business goals and meaningful success in the business arena,” he said.

Applications for the new financing scheme will open in the first week of November. Applications will be accepted through the SME Portal on SDFC’s website.

SDFC already provides financing under a start-up loan scheme in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
