Dr. Mohamed Asim, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on Saturday said the Ministry is discussing with countries inside and outside the region on establishing visa waiver agreements.
In an exclusive interview with PSM News, Dr. Asim said the Ministry is always seeking avenues to assist Maldivian citizens who need help while they are abroad.
He said visa waiver discussions are currently underway with a number of countries, easing visa requirements at destinations most frequented by Maldivian travellers.
The Ministry is seeking ways to further enhance consular services provided to Maldivian travellers and those residing abroad, he said.
He added that the Ministry is working to introduce online registration and providing consular service via the internet.
