Gov’t Launches Online Fishing License Applications via 'Keyolhu' Portal

In a significant move towards digital transformation, the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources announced Tuesday that all applications for fishing licenses will now be exclusively submitted through the 'Keyolhu' web-portal.

This initiative aims to streamline and modernise the Ministry's service delivery.

Beginning 4 November, both new fishing license applications and renewals will be processed solely through the 'Keyolhu' platform. Access to the portal is available via users' national digital identity eFaas accounts. The 'Keyolhu' portal has already become an integral tool for the Ministry, facilitating applications for licenses related to fish and fish products, enabling companies to submit regular details of fish purchases, and issuing catch certificates for fish exports.

To assist applicants, the Ministry has published a comprehensive guide on its website detailing the process for applying for new and renewing existing fishing licenses through the portal.

Additionally, applications for the recently permitted gulper shark fishing license will also be accepted via the 'Keyolhu' portal. This digitisation effort underscores the Ministry's continued commitment to enhancing efficiency and accessibility for stakeholders within the fishing industry.
