Justice in Palestine a Test of Global Credibility, Says Foreign Minister

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel has said the plight of the Palestinian people remains a defining test of the international community’s commitment to justice. He made the statement at the High-Level Ministerial session “Upholding International Justice Systems and the Rule of Law,” at the Doha Forum 2025, held in Doha, Qatar.

In a post on X, the Foreign Minister said he emphasised that the principles of justice must apply equally to all nations. He stressed that the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine remains a profound test of the collective resolve to uphold international law and protect innocent civilians, adding that justice delayed in Palestine is justice denied.

“As a small island state, the Maldives remains deeply committed to principled diplomacy and the integrity of international justice mechanisms,” he said.

The Minister further stated that meaningful dialogue and global cooperation are essential to ensuring justice remains impartial, consistent, and accessible to all. He expressed gratitude for the productive exchanges with fellow ministers and experts at the roundtable, and for the opportunity to strengthen the Maldives’ engagement on this important global platform.
