BML’s growth will benefit the entire nation, says Finance Minister

The Minister of Finance and Planning, Moosa Zameer has stated that Bank of Maldives (BML)’s financial growth and service expansion will benefit the entire nation.

Speaking at the BML’s Kudahuvadhoo branch inauguration in Dhaalu atoll, the finance minister noted the remarkable progress made by the nation’s bank, stressing that its financial growth will have a reverberating positive impact on the entire nation.
The minister stressed the importance of the growth of the business sector as vital for ensuring the progress of the nation’s economy, and linked BML’s contribution in this regard. The minister urged all stakeholders to work in tandem to facilitate the BML’s growth.

The minister also praised BML’s timely completion of its projects undertaken. In 2026, the minister said a special priority will be given to expanding the USD ATM’s nationwide. The minister revealed that 70 USD ATM’s and 12 branch offices will be inaugurated this year.

“The establishment of USD ATMs nationwide will assist in the growth of guesthouse businesses and will make trade easier.” Minister Zameer noted.

Looking ahead, the minister noted work will be carried out to further assist the bank’s growth.
