Health Ministry said on Saturday it was undertaking a project to furnish healthcare service centres across the country.
Under the MVR 9.6 million project, the furniture required in the healthcare services centres were acquired through State Trading Organisation (STO).
According to the Health Ministry, the furniture have now been shipped to respective health centres.
Deputy Director General at the Health Ministry Ahmed Qasim told PSM News that "80% of the new furniture are now being used in health centres. They include chairs, tables and filing cabinets."
According to the Health Ministry, the Government is currently undertaking numerous health sector development projects, including infrastructure development and expansion projects, human resource development, and provision of medical and other pharmaceutical equipment.
The Yameen administration has so far spent over MVR 484 million on healthcare facility renovation projects, it said.
