The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced that it will remain open on selected dates to provide services to the public and banking institutions during last ten days of Ramadan.
According to the central bank, services will be available on 11 March and an additional designated date, with operating hours from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
On 11 March, the MMA will issue and accept cash, letters and other official items between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
The Authority further stated that services will be provided from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on all non-public holidays during the month of Ramadan and on the 7th of Shawwal.
Although the last ten days of Ramadan are observed as government holidays, state institutions typically arrange essential services during this period based on operational requirements.
The MMA said the extended service arrangements are intended to ensure continuity of essential financial services during the holy month.
