Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has issued a travel advisory for passengers planning to travel to the Middle East. The airport operator encouraged travelers to seek updated information from their airlines or tour operators before departing for the airport.
In a statement issued on social media, MACL said due to the temporary closure of airspace over several Middle Eastern countries, all passengers are advised to closely monitor updates from their respective airlines and tour operators before proceeding to the airport.
In this regard, MACL highlighted certain aspects of the advisory for passengers to take note of. These are to check the status of their flight directly through their airline's official website or mobile application before travelling to the airport, to contact the tour operator for the latest guidance and any rebooking or schedule change, to allow for additional time for any necessary travel arrangements.
