Defence Minister announces awareness campaign against terrorism

Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar announced a national campaign to increase public awareness on terrorism and violent extremism.

The Defence Minister said “the menace of terrorism and violent extremism threatens peace and stability in the Maldives, similar to other countries.”

“The Government is committed to contribute to the global fight against terrorism and extremism, and the first step is to increase public awareness on the matter,” he said.
