Pre-summit sessions for the Asia Media Summit commences

The pre-summit sessions of the Asia Media Summit (AMS) have commenced.

This year’s edition of the annual Asia Media Summit, organised by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), in collaboration with Public Service Media (PSM) is being held in the Maldives.

The summit is taking place from 11 to 14 May at Villa Nautica. This year’s theme is “Maldives 2.0: From Tradition to Tech”. The pre-summit sessions are now underway.

Five pre-summit sessions are being conducted simultaneously. Topics include social media strategies for engagement, news and emerging technologies in the age of AI, strengthening trust and digital media in the era of AI, climate and disaster-resilient media, and AI tools for news production and visual storytelling.

The workshops are being held at Villa Nautica, Hulhule Island Hotel, and Manhattan Business Hotel.

The Asia Media Summit will officially open on 12 May. Following the opening ceremony, plenary sessions of the summit will begin. These sessions will continue through 13 May, while the summit will conclude on 14 May with a special coral-planting activity to be held at Kudagiri.

More than 300 participants involved in broadcasting and broadcast management across Asia-Pacific countries are expected to attend the summit. Around 80 percent of the participants are from overseas.
