President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared the 24th and 25th of this month as government holidays in connection with Eid al-Adha.
The President’s Office announced that Sunday, 24 May, and Monday, 25 May, have been designated as government holidays by the President.
According to the President’s Office, this decision was made to allow people the opportunity to spend more time with their families during the Eid al-Adha holidays by providing government employees with a continuous holiday period without interruption.
The President’s Office also stated that, following the Eid holidays, government offices will reopen on Sunday, 31 May, as already reflected in the official calendar.
This year, the Day of Hajj falls on Tuesday, 26 May, while Eid al-Adha will be observed on Wednesday, 27 May.
