The Maldives Embassy in Japan has held discussions with the Japan Football Association (JFA) to explore ways to deepen cooperation in football, futsal and beach soccer development in the Maldives.
The talks, hosted at the JFA headquarters, included the exchange of coaching expertise, youth development programmes, infrastructure upgrades and the organisation of joint tournaments aimed at elevating the technical level of Maldivian players and coaches.
The Maldives’ Ambassador to Japan, Ahmed Mahloof, underscored Japan’s long‑standing role in advancing sports across the Indian Ocean archipelago. He added that he was “delighted” to meet President Miyamoto and to affirm the strong bilateral ties.
The Ambassador extended his best wishes to the Japanese national team ahead of the forthcoming FIFA World Cup.
