Minister Ismail Shafeeu represents Asia-Pacific region at GPE Board meeting

The Minister of Education, Higher Education and Skills Development, Dr Ismail Shafeeu attended the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Board of Directors meeting held in Paris.

The Minister participated in his capacity as a Board Member representing the Asia and Pacific region, a significant role that underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in global education development.

Minister Ismail Shafeeu was accompanied by State Minister Ahmed Mohamed, who serves as Technical Advisor. Together, they engaged in various discussions spanning three intensive days, addressing critical decisions pertaining to the operational framework of GPE, its planned activities for the upcoming period, and budgetary estimates for the coming years.

The Global Partnership for Education stands as one of the largest international funds dedicated to providing free assistance aimed at strengthening education systems in developing countries worldwide. Established as a transformative initiative, GPE brings together governments, civil organisations, and international donors to ensure that every child has access to quality education.
