Zakat House distributes record USD 357 per person in Zakat al-Mal

The Maldives Zakat House has distributed a record USD 357 per person as this year’s Zakat al-Mal, marking an increase compared to the previous year.

Zakat al-Mal funds were deposited to 2,384 individuals registered on the national registry of the poor and needy as of 1st Dhu al-Hijjah 1447, amounting to a total distribution of USD 850,200.

The Zakat House said the per-person allocation this year is higher than in 2025, when USD 324 was distributed per beneficiary. It added that this year’s increase reflects the highest amount distributed per individual under Zakat al-Mal to date.
