Kulhudhuffushi port staff end strike

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has said staff of Kulhudhuffushi Port, who went on strike demanding salary increments, have now returned to work.

The company said on Thursday that all but one had returned to work after a meeting with its CEO.

According to MPL, staff from Male’ Port were sent to Kulhudhuffushi to ensure that operations were not disrupted due to the strike.

CEO of MPL Mohamed Junaid said he invited those leading the strike to Male’ to discuss their concerns but they had turned down the invitation.

47 staff are currently working at Kulhudhuffushi port.
