Met Office forecasts rain across country in next 48 hours

Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has forecast scattered rain with isolated heavy showers throughout the country in the next 48 hours.

The Met Office said on Sunday that “surface winds will vary between southwest and westerly at 10 to 20 miles per hour, and winds may gust 45 miles per hour during showers.” Seas are expected to be moderate becoming rough during showers, according to the forecast.

The prevailing weather conditions across the country are associated with the southwest monsoon, the weather office said.

According to the Met Office, the central atolls recorded the highest rainfall during the past 24 hours.
