President sends message of sympathy to the UK Prime Minister

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom sends a message of sympathy, to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Theresa May, following yesterday's attack in Manchester.

In the message of sympathy, the President said that it was with shock and outrage that he learned of the suicide bomb blast during the concert in Manchester, causing the loss of innocent lives and injuring many more.

“The Government and people of the Maldives join me in condemning this cowardly act in the strongest terms, and we express our firm solidarity with the Government of the United Kingdom. During this time of grief, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies and full support to the Government of the United Kingdom,” the President said.

President Yameen ended the message by conveying deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
