Survey reveals Maldives as a preferred destination for Italians

Maldives was selected as one of the most preferred destination among Italian tourists, according to a survey conducted by italiani.coop.

After years of hardship and decline, Italian outbound tourism and travel expenses are set to rise in 2017, according to the forecasts made by research centers italiani.coop. The nationwide survey conducted by Italian.coop promoted to discover the intentions of Italians and their preferred destinations. Italians in 2017 are willing to make some sacrifice just to go on vacation, the survey said. This summer there will be a 10% increase in the amount of Italian holiday makers compared to last year, the survey showed, while there is an increase in attention towards destinations abroad.

Italy is one of the top markets from which tourists visit the Maldives, as per latest statistics released by Ministry of Tourism of Maldives. The first five months of the year saw 44 thousand tourists visiting Maldives from Italy, which is a 27 percent increase compare to the same period last year.
