President sends message of sympathy to Indian Prime Minister

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, following the flash floods and landslides in several areas of Nagaland state in India.

In his message, the President stated that he was deeply saddened to hear the news of the flash floods and landslides in several areas of Nagaland state, causing the loss of lives, destruction of crops, plantations, and livestock, and rendering many families in the villages homeless

“On behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, and on my own behalf, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of India, during this time of national distress,” the President said.

President Yameen ended his message by conveying sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
