The Supreme Court of Maldives has stated that strict action would be taken against individuals attempting to undermine the court and its rulings.
The ruling issued by the Supreme Court said that legal actions would be taken against any attempts to challenge and question its verdicts. Reminding that it is their lawful duty to uphold the constitution and determining justice, the Supreme Court said that it will take legal actions against everyone, be it a lawmaker, or an individual. It has experienced several media platforms releasing news which contradicts court rulings, according to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court also highlighted that it has the constitutional authority to decide the final say in all constitutional arguments.
