President's Office has revealed that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will address the nation on the occasion of this year's Independence Day.
The programme is scheduled to be aired via broadcasting channels at 1000 hours on 26th July 2017. Independence Day programme, the cultural festivities are scheduled to be held at 2100 hours at National Stadium on 26th July 2017, according to the President’s Office.
The parade and route march organized by the Maldives National Cadet Co. will be held on the main roads of Malé at 1630 hours on 27th July 2017. The President's Office also said that the official Independence Day reception hosted by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim will be held at 2100 hours at Dharubaaruge convention centre on the evening of 27th July 2017. The route march organized by the Maldives National Defence Force to celebrate this year's Independence Day will be held on the main roads of Hulhumalé at 1630 hours on 28th July 2017, according to the President’s Office.
