China's Lucky Air ready to begin operations to the Maldives

Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Adil Moosa has revealed that China's Lucky Air is ready to begin operations to the Maldives in January 2018.

Speaking to PSM News, Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Adil Moosa said that China's Lucky Air will commence flights operations between Velana International Airport and Guangzhou next January. The Managing Director said the airpline is planning to operate two flights a week between Male' and Guangzhou.  

Adil Moosa said numerous international airlines are expected to begin operations to Maldives within upcoming months and throughout next year. He also said that Thai AirAsia is to begin operations to Maldives on August 11 and will operate flights between Male' and Bangkok. He further revealed that Alitalia is also slated to begin operations in October, while Air France is to begin operations between Male' and Paris in November 2017.

The Managing Director of MACL said that the company is working tirelessly to bring more international airlines into the country. He added that they are also in discussions with middle-eastern and an Indian airlines to begin operations to Maldives.

Meanwhile, international airlines which already operating to Maldives are also looking to increase the number of flight operated between Maldives and the respective destinations to cater to the rising demand.
