Mohamed Hussain Shareef nominated as Ambassador to Sri Lanka

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has nominated Mohamed Hussain Shareef to the position of Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka and forwards the nomination to the parliament for approval.

The nomination is scheduled to be subject to approval after an analysis sitting in the parliament, which is scheduled for tomorrow. Mohamed Hussain Shareef had earlier served as the Minister of the President's office and the ambassador of Maldives to Japan.

The position of Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka is currently filled by former Minister of Education, Zahiyaa Zareer.
